descriptionProfile of Anindita Neogy as a Kathak Performer Born on 17 August 1987 in a culturally rich Bengali family and in the womb of a talented mother the performing art of classical Kathak dance came naturally to Anindita right from the childhood. She started learning the difficult but fine steps of Kathak at 5 under her mother Mrs.Falguni Neogy. The glimpse of her talent as Kathak dancer cast a spell over the spectators from her very childhood either at cultural gathering of her school or at function of cultural institutions of Ghaziabad and in various local competitions as a soloist and won prizes and huge appreciation. Meanwhile her mother started her own Kathak and classical music centre “SARGAM” in Ghaziabad and Anindita started assisting her in teaching classical dance to small children and have created several senior students inspite of the fact that she herself was a child. At 13, Anindita felt to step out from the small world of Ghaziabad and started learning finer steps of Kathak from Padmabhushan UMA SHARMA in her school at Delhi. During this period Anindita took part in ballets of Uma Sharma like “Maha Raas” in Birla Mandir, Kathak Mahotsav in Kamani Auditorium organized by Kathak Kendra, Iscon Temple,Delhi and “Karwan Guzar Gaya” written by national poet Niraj in India Habitat Center. She started learning Jaipur style of kathak under the aegis of Pt.Rajendra Gangani in the prestigious institute of advanced kathak training “Kathak Kendra”. Meanwhile Anindita has also completed her VISHARAD from Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh. She has also excelled in classical vocal and completed her “Bhushan” from the same institution. Of late Anindita topped from Ghaziabad at “Sambhagiya Kathak Pratiyogita” organized by U.P Sangeet Natak Academy. Anindita composed many dance ballets like “Meerabai, Maa Shakti, Krishna etc. with the assistance of her mother in her school SARGAM and is the youngest choreographer in Ghaziabad. . Her performance was highly appreciated by local medias, print medias like “Amar Ujala, Dainik Jagran, HT Live, Times Of India,Punjab Kesri,HT City, HINT etc. and eminent guests like Smt. Shobha Deepak Singh. At the age of 17, Anindita was invited by the State of Stuttgart Germany for solo Kathak presentation and is the first and youngest dancer to go abroad for 6 international stages in Germany as a Kathak Soloist from Ghaziabad. She has currently been auditioned for the gradation in Kathak dance in Doordarshan.
