What's a Chapbooks.com Team Publishing Grant?

We're spreading the word about a new kind of book publishing -- one more concerned with celebrating a community of writers than with publishing books for profit. Now that the Internet can bring the power of publishing to everyone, we've created a Publishing Team Grant program to encourage the growth of classroom publishing by teams of dedicated teachers.

Each team of three teachers can choose to produce a single, combined anthology written by all three classes together, or three different anthologies, written individually by each of the three classes.
The grant amount ($465) covers all production and shipping costs for
either 1 set of 75 medium-sized books (a combined anthology from the three classes, up to 150 pages) or 3 sets of 30 short books (1 title for each class, up to 75 pages).  Grants must be used by June 30,
2000.

Who is eligible?

Grants are available to any group of three teachers (K-12 or college
level), each of whom has his or her own class of at least 20 students.
Teachers who teach the same group of students are not eligible.
Chapbooks.com is a web-based service. Therefore, all three of the team
members must have email accounts and at least one of the team members
should have basic familiarity with word processing and surfing the
web.

How can teachers apply?

There is an application on-line that can be filled out or downloaded and printed.
The application can be found at :
