Hi, my name is Chris Sheloski and I am a student at Penn State University majoring in elementary education. I need some help for one of my classes, I am supposed to modify a lesson plan with the help of another professional via the Internet. So if you want to help me modify or improve my lesson (any ideas would be greatly appreciated), here's an overview:
The purpose of this lesson is to teach students (fourth/fifth grade, social studies class) to understand why people who work and play together need to follow rules; and how these rules are developed. The first activity has the teacher showing the students the U.S. Constitution and giving and overview of its purpose. The second activity has students discussing the people who wrote the Constitution and the time period they lived in. How there there time period was similar/different from our today. The third, and final activity, has students taking a walking tour of their school and studying the rules, eventually learning that rules are needed.
Once again, any help or ideas would be appreciated, you can respond through this website or by private email. Thank you.
